WE have made the most of what we have coming out of The pandemic and that has been very Fulfilling.
The Truckin' Life
In the last 6 Months I have Travelled over 70,000 kms Driving a Semi Trailer for an events company, I have Driven across the Nullabor and back then up to the Gold Coast and back to Melbourne along with numerous times up and down the east coast, I have learnt so much about my own capabilities proving my own addaptibillity are all in my head, I have had a lot of time to think, consider, chat and think again. Spent many hours on the phone to my Dad solving the world's problems. I have met a whole new set of friends and contacts. What an experience it was, I am glad to be back home with the First husband and the Two Dogs and looking forward to future and some exciting projects that are in the pipeline with the club.

Bunnings BBQ A great opportunity to meet club members and help with the fundraising effort for the club, Our next one to be held on Saturday October 22nd.
Young Writers festival
This Year the Club is Celebrating 8 years with Young writers Festival - In Collaboration with MCC .
Africause
Our IPP Aaron roped his kids in to putting on a Comedy Night for Africause and they raised around $2500, It was a very enjoyable night out.- we are looking forward to another one in 2023.
Soul Kitchen
We Continue our Commitment to Soul Kitchen on the last Sunday Every Month. Our next Volunteer day is Sunday 30th October 2022.
Nourish Program - Yarraville Community Center
The club has been making recent donations of Dry & tinned goods to assist with the bulk of the meal base, this includes Pasta, Rice, Beans, Tomatoes and other staples that they may request.
We are happy to accept $$ donations to purchase these goods currently around $100 per fortnight that we spend at Cheaper By Miles, Footscray.
The Bicycle Network #AroundTheBay was a successful event.

Dear Yarraville Rotarians,
Thank you for your contribution in marshalling yesterday for the AROUND the BAY Bicycle event in support of the Smith Family - Learning for Life programme.
Without your volunteer support it is very difficult to run a successful event.
For the 10 volunteers from Yarraville, Bicycle Network (BN) provide a stipend of $600.00. This is then matched by my Club.
However, we also receive stipend from BN for other volunteering for the event - SAG Wagon, BBQ, Rest Areas and Team Leaders.
We also have our own Team Rotary riders who are sponsored.
This year we had 8 Rotary Clubs providing around 100 volunteers, approx. half of the total volunteers involved in different ways.
You could say without Rotary it would be difficult to run the event.
The total we expect to raise this year from all activities based around the event is over $20,000.00.
As you can see other activities can be based around the event to raise funds for the Smith Family.
Total Rotary contribution to Smith Family over the period we have been involved in the event is approx. $250,000.00.
On top of this since 1993 BN have contributed to the Smith Family over $10,000,000.00, from the event.

As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.
Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease. Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.
Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
Living up to this Year's Theme, Imagine Rotary and “wrapping ourselves around the project”
We have Made two grant applications for this financial year…
1. $100K application to the West gate Neighborhood fund to assist in the redevelopment of the stony creek reserve. Through and in collaboration with Maribyrnong City Council and West Gate Tunnel Project.
2. $50k BCG For Sensory Yarraville @ Bellairs Park
Sensory Yarraville - We will team up with the Maribyrnong City Council.
ESRAG - Rotarians for Bees - Rotary Environmental Ambassador Costa Georgiadis and Local Allied Health Providers.
To Design, Construct & Plant a Sensory garden in Bellairs Park, Yarraville.
Maribyrnong City Council will guide us through a community consultation process where we can design and plan a Sensory Garden .
Our First Stage will be to establish the Canopy plants along with the hardscape to create a Garden allowing a range of sensory experiences through Touch, Taste, Smell, Sight, Motion and Hearing.

Current bank balance is $3095.00
In financial year since July we had bunnings bbq in Sept which raised $970 and almost paid for our annual WERN contribution of $1,100
Before we know it will be Christmas season, Kingsville Carols 8th Dec, A Bunnings BBQ on the 10th and Doug's house party on The 13th December 2022
